Crochet Sweaters for Fall - Emilia’s Fall Favourites

The ultimate fall crochet sweaters and cardigans is here! Let me introduce LookBook 23: Emilia’s Fall Favourites. I’ve once again teamed up with Yarn and Colors to make a LookBook of five crochet garments that are perfect for the upcoming fall and winter season. In November 2020 we collaborated on the LookBook 13: Daydreams by Emilia with garments like the Brunch Time Sweater, Sunrise Sweater, Afternoon Tea Cardigan and Morning Glory Cardigan. I had som much fun designing that and this one was no exception! After asking you on social media what you like and want combined with my designing style I hope I’ve managed to create a wide variety of crochet patterns for you.

House renovations and lots of crocheting

Let me tell you first about of the names behind every garment. I designed both LookBook 13 and now 23 in the late spring / early summer months which for me means that another season of my favourite summer tv-show is airing. It’s The Block Australia. I just love watching the houses grow during all of the summer and it’s a great evening entertainment to crochet to. Since I live in Finland we never have the latest seasons so for LookBook 13 I watched 2018 season and now for 23 it was 2020 season. Since all of the garments have been crocheted with this show in the background I decided to name the garments after the houses of the 2020 show which was the series where all houses had a specific decade to go by: 10’s up to 50’s.

Let’s have a closer look at all the garment in this LookBook!

The Junction Sweater

First garment out is The Junction Sweater. Named after the 50’s house in the show perfectly matching their pink accents in the house. Other than that the inspiration from this sweater comes from one of my most popular patterns - the Rose Dust Sweater.

With the same base stitch and ribbing the Junction Sweater is the V-neck version with fun bobbles to give texture and a point of difference. Made in the 100% merino wool yarn Serene it’s is soft and so warm, yet the stitch makes it airy and cool.

Summerhill Cardigan

Summerhill Cardigan is named after the 1910’s inspired house. The cardigan itself is an extension of the Brunch Time Sweater. Using the same stitch and idea it is the wrap cardigan version of it.

This cardigan is also made using the lovely Serene yarn, which makes it really soft and comfortable to wear.

This elegant cardigan is great to wrap around you all year around. Match it with trousers or why not wear it over a dress. It is your perfect wardrobe staple to mix and match and wear time after time.

Deco Waves Sweater

The Deco Waves Sweater has it is name from house number 2 and their Art Deco style and curved kitchen counter made from dolomite. Also this sweater has its inspiration from the Brunch Time Sweater, being made in the same way but using different stitches. Using the same yarn it has the same great feel and it brings out the texture of the stitches.

The Baby Fabulous yarn is the yarn that made me come in contact with Yarn and Colors the first time winning one of the spots in their Baby Fabulous competition in early 2020. This sweater is made using the beautiful almond stitch and you’ll quickly fall in love with the texture it brings.

The Mayfield Cardigan

Another bobble favourite is this long crochet cardigan with pockets and the lovely popcorn stitch - the Mayfield Cardigan. Made using 2 strands of Elegant this mohair mix yarn makes the cardigan so light and soft. This yarn is an excellent budget version without sacrificing any of the softness from mohair. The hidden pockets makes for a nice detail and the length makes it extra cozy.

The 2 strands of mohair mix yarn adds upp to a Sport weight or even a DK weight yarn, so as long as you meet gauge it also works great making this cardigan in another fibre/yarn. For example Serene that has been used for some of the other sweaters in the collection.

Peppercorn Tree Hoodie

Last but not least we have the Peppercorn Tree Hoodie! This is the cosiest sweater in the collection!  Made using 2 strands of Elegant this mohair mix yarn makes the sweater so light and soft. You’ll want to wear it all the time.

A hoodie was on many of your wish lists so I couldn’t help but to make one in mohair (my favourite yarn to work with!). Named after the 1920’s house with the large peppercorn tree as one of the greatest feature this crochet hoodie is modern, elegant and so cozy!
