In collaboration with over 30 designers and organised by RaeLynn of Itchin’ for some Stitchin’, Hannah of HanJan Crochet and Sarah of Ned & Mimi let me introduce the Spring Style Blog Hop!
Running from the 1st of March until the 2nd of April we will presents 1 crochet pattern per day that has been picked by that days designer. Most patterns are brand new and exclusive for this event! We’ve reached the 22nd of March and today is my day to present my pattern to you - The Tulip Clutch!
The event includes over 30 patterns and you can grab the bundle with all of the patterns for 90% off here. That way you don’t have to download every pattern separately every day and are sure not to miss any.

How it works
First let’s go through how the blog hop works. For 24 hours 1 pattern will be available for free through the blog hop. You find the code you’ll need to get it through the round up page. You’ll then access the pattern through the link to Ravelry on each designer’s page (for mine it is this page, grab it through below button).
The events name is the Spring Style Blog Hop so I wanted to create something that would be great for spring. If you are like me there is not the same amount of time to be inside working on larger crochet projects, but instead you want to enjoy outdoors. Of course we bring our projects with us, which makes a smaller portable project easier to bring. The Tulip Clutch is a great project for that.
About
The Tulip Clutch is worked in 2 pieces, the clutch and the strap. The pattern includes detailed photos on some of the steps.
Skill level: Easy
This pattern is written using US terminology.
This pattern is written in one size.
Stitch
The clutch is made using the single crochet V-stitch. If you want to learn how to crochet the v.stitch (and at the same time check your gauge for the clutch) use instructions below or check out one of my video tutorials where the v-stitch is used (link below).
Check gauge and learn the v-stitch— you make the gauge swatch bigger to not measure on the edges.
Chain 27 (using the 4.5 mm / 7 hook)
Row 1: In the 3rd chain from the hook (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc), *skip next 2 ch, (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) in next ch* rep *-* from across until 3 last ch of the row. Skip next 2 ch, (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) in last ch. Ch 2. Turn.
(1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) - will be referred to as a V-stitch from now on (v-st)
After row 1 you’ll have 9 v-sts
Row 2: In the ch1-sp between the sc from prev row, v-st. Repeat to end of row. Ch 2. Turn. (9 v-sts)
Repeat row 2 until 10 cm / 4” high. Measure your gauge.
Gauge (10x10cm / 4x4”)
Using 4.5mm / 7 hook: 7 v-sts across in 13 rows
Above video goes through how to make the v-stitch.
Spring Style Blog Hop
With plenty of patterns I am sure you’ll be able to find many crochet patterns to your liking in the blog hop. What is great is that they’ll be available for free so you can try all your favourites. If you don’t want to keep track of all your favourites dates the easiest is to grab the bundle where you get all the patterns for a fraction of individual sales (90% off!).
Missed the 24 hours window? Or easily want to grab all patterns for over 90% off? Grab the bundle with all patterns here!
